Warren Strickland - Managing Director
Warren's furniture removal experience began back in 1966 with Warren Removals, then a one truck company which Warren built up to become the largest privately owned furniture removal company in WA. After 12 years Warren sold his business to a larger group and moved into management for two Australia's premium removals and logistics companies. He and his wife Dianne became business owners again in 1987 with the purchase of a Curtis Bros franchise in Queensland. More purchase and business expansion saw the Strickland's in the position in 1989 to purchase and take over the running of Walkers Moving & Storage a business on the north side of Brisbane. Together they have taken Walkers from strength to strength to now be one of Australia's most successful privately owned removals business with offices in Queensland and NSW and agents nationwide.
Dianne Strickland - Finance Director
Dianne is an Executive Manager of Walkers Moving and Storage with responsibilities for Finance and Administration. Dianne's financial and management experience was developed through 9 years as an owner and manager of a successful Hairdressing Salon in Perth, not to mention her great grandfather had one of the earliest removal businesses in Fremantle. Dianne now focuses her skill and enthusiasm into the family Moving Office, and along with her husband Warren has built Walkers Moving and Storage up to be one of the most respected and awarded Removals companies in the country.
Adam Strickland - NSW Manager & National Operations & Sales Manager
Born into a removals family, Adam commenced his removals career at the tender age of 14 working for his father's company during school holidays. Within two years of working full time Adam's talent and motivation was rewarded when he took over management of a new Brisbane depot for the family business. Time here, along with stints at a number of Sydney based national removals and a couple of years working in London has given Adam an enormous amount of industry experience for someone his age. Since 2001 Adam has been the National Operations and Sales Manager for Walkers and more recently also run's the ever expanding Walker's Sydney office. In 2006 Adam's wife Claire joined him in business as part of the Sydney Walkers sales team and together they continue to set the benchmarks for growth within the company.
Juliette Strickland - Special Projects Manager
Juliette is another Strickland born into removals and now one of the industry's best and most awarded. In her 20 years in the industry, Juliette has worked across all facets of the removals business from the operations through to board meetings and everything in between. She was awarded the CIT Queensland Young Transport Professional Achiever Award in 1996, the Australian Furniture Removals Association (AFRA) Woman of the Year in 2003 as well as the AFRA Outstanding Achievement Award in 2007. She was subsequently elected to the AFRA National Council in 1995 becoming the first female and youngest person ever elected to such a senior national role. Juliette was also made a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia (CILT) in 2003. Today Juliette works part time at Walkers, responsible for special projects and strategic planning for the company.
Claire Strickland - Removals Consultant
Claire married into the Strickland family in 2006 and has made it her career since 2005. Claire currently works out of the Walkers Sydney office as a Removals Consultant. Along with her husband Adam she has been key to the continuing growth and expansion of this highly successful branch.
Greg Wilson - Operations Manager Qld
Greg began his working career at Walkers Moving & Storage at 1998 as a furniture removalist trainee. Greg has moved onward and upward in the business since then, graduating from team member to Driver to Leading Hand to Operations Assistance to his current role as Queensland Operations Manager all in just 10 years. Greg's current role involves the management and scheduling of company vehicles and personnel to ensure clients freight is relocated and stored to the client requirements locally, intrastate and interstate. Greg is another of the Walkers team with the knowledge and experience to really make a difference to your move.
Kevin Balfe - Operations Assistant/Trainer
Kevin is an Operations Assistant, a Leading Hand as well as the companies most respected and successful staff trainer. Kevin has been with Walkers for well over 10 years and in that time has seen and solved about every removals 'challenge' out there. Kevin is a fantastic role model for younger team members and a critical member of the Walkers family.
Glenn Downer - Removalist consultant (AFRA Employee Award 2007)
Glenn joined the removals industry in 1978 as a furniture removal offsider. Since that time Glenn has worked for nearly every major removal company in Qld at all levels, including Branch Manager. Glenn has spent the last 18 years in sales amassing a staggering 20,000 house inspections. That kind of experience and knowledge is invaluable in Glen's day to day work at Walkers. Glen was most recently recognised for his contribution to Walkers and the removals industry as a whole with being awarded "Employee of the year 2007 'from the Australian Furniture Removal Industry.
Yvonne Ormsby - Accounts Receivable/Storage Accounts Manager
Yvonne manages the many accounts for both our moving and storage business. Her strong work ethic and friendly manner ensures matters in the receivable area are always well under control. Yvonne has been with Walkers since 2006.
Donny Balfe - Furniture Removalist Driver
Donny is one of our senior moving team members, responsible for driving and general management of large and complicated moves. Testament to Donny’s skill, he was awarded the Australian Furniture Removalist Trainee of the year in 2007. Walkers trainees have won this for 2 years running in 2006 and 2007.
Tom Yeadon - Furniture Removalist
Tom represents the positive and energetic nature of our moving teams, and is a irreplaceable influence on the whole moving and storage business. Tom (along with Donny) was awarded the Australian Furniture Removalist Trainee of the year for 2006. Walkers have now won this for two years running in 2006 and 2007.
Ray and Sandra Skarsky
Ray and Sandy (no matter what time of the day) are on hand to our customers. They are a very loyal and invaluable team to the Walkers business. They are another of our husband and wife teams who work in the Administration and Removal sides of the Sydney Office. Sandy was part of our opening team for the Walkers Sydney branch - she loved it so much she invited her husband and son James to join the company also!
Rhonda Hart - Operations Assistant/Admin support
Rhonda brings to Walkers over 25 years experience in the Sydney Removals Industry. Rhonda is a master of coordination and project management, always there at the beginning and end of projects, as well as working quietly behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly in-between.
Kezia Wilson - Assistant Accountant/Accounts Payable
Kezia is another of our husband and wife teams working in our Brisbane office, starting with Walkers in 1999 in a Marketing and Sales role. Kezia has since broadened her skills and experience, moving into Accounts and most recently now heading up our Accounts Payable team.
