When moving locally in Melbourne we can offer a local moving service to cater to any budget?

We offer two options when quoting to move locally, you choose either the fast and easy over the phone quote which is our hourly rate service for the budget orientated, or for people who are more precise and want to know exactly what it costs on moving day and like to be organised move we recommend the fixed price option which includes a free and no obligation in home survey.

Why do I need a Fixed Price Quote to move locally?

Walkers are one of the few removalists that still offer this in home quote service. It proves to be more accurate way to quote, and protects you from paying more on moving day. If you are also a more precise person this gives you more certainty on moving day because you know what you are up for.

What’s included in the fixed price quote?

It includes the Free in home survey which involves our moving consultant coming to meet with you in your home, so that we can start to plan a better move for you and assess the volume and access and determine  your special requirements.

Our quote is based on the list of items the Estimator and you agree on at the time of survey, and its always a good idea to please peruse for accuracy when you receive fixed price quote:-

  • Provision of removalists to remove furniture and packed cartons
  • Provision of suitable sized vehicle to transport furniture and effects to local residence.
  • Provision of plastic protection to wrap all upholstered furniture prior to removal.
  • Pad wrap all other items for protection in transit at the time of loading.
  • Dismantle beds if required for transit (basic bed dismantle only excludes Bunk Beds).
  • Unload and position furniture & cartons in designated rooms at delivery residence
  • Re-assemble beds if required and set up and position furniture (Once Only).

Why then should I book an Hourly Rate Service?

Its Quick and easy to quote over the phone ideal for small short distance local moves, and when you are too busy to meet with a consultant. The hourly rate service ranges in cost and size of vehicle can be based on 1 ute and 1 man or 2 men and mid size truck or 3 men and a truck

Our Hourly rate service is based on a depot to depot charge, so we charge from our depot and return to it,  with the minimum 2 hours on a Monday to Friday and 4 hours on a Saturday, it includes the vehicle and removalists as specified above.

What do you mean by the depot to depot charge?

The Depot to Depot charge is charged from the moment our truck departs our depot to your residence. It also means the hourly rate starts and finishes at the Depot and is charged in quarter hour increments after the minimum has been reached i.e. 2 or 4 hours.

Then how much will it cost?

It depends on you and how much you have us do for you, you can control the cost and have us do as much or as little as you need. We can give you some indications of time frames based on your residence but this is an ideal service for customers with multiple pickups and drop offs or people who aren’t too organised and need flexibility. A lot of our local customers just have us do the large items because they are moving in the same street or suburb so move a lot of the small things, this service is ideal for people moving on a budget.

  • Should your move exceed normal business hours (i.e..5.30am to 5.00pm), a time and a half rate will apply to your hourly service.
